"What is important is not how we move, but what moves us." - Trudi Schoop
“My philosophy derives from the holistic, humanistic, positive psychology approach that integrates the emotional, social, and physical state of individuals through movement and art. I wish to advocate for equity in my work through supporting individuals in ways that are imaginative, strengths based, and developmentally appropriate; while also being open-minded, inclusive and considerate of experiences and other cultures.”
Kirsten gained her Masters of Science in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute. She is a certified Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) through the American Dance Therapy Association. This offers the opportunity to invite you to try movement, and process making art directives, into a session. Utilizing dance and art in sessions can help improve emotional comprehension, processing through somatic work, as well as emotional, and social comprehension.
